On September 11, 2024, EKAnalys participated in the international sustainability conference in Berlin, where our own Jörgen represented the company. The conference, organized by the IIHF, ISU and DEB, brought together some of the most influential players in sustainability solutions for ice rinks and refrigeration technology. Our Energy Guide Book received special attention during the event and was mentioned by other participants as an important tool for promoting energy efficiency and environmentally friendly solutions in the sport.
With an agenda that highlighted innovative and environmentally friendly cooling systems for ice rinks, EKAnalys was proud to be part of the discussion around future solutions. It was even underlined how important it is to hire consultants early in the process to save energy (and money!) in the long term. Among other things, possibilities with natural refrigerants were discussed, an area where EKAnalys has a high level of expertise.
Who are IIHF, ISU and DEB?
The IIHF (International Ice Hockey Federation) is the global governing body for ice hockey and plays a key role in promoting the sport through regulation and international tournaments.
The ISU (International Skating Union) is responsible for international skating interests, including figure skating and speed skating, with a focus on developing the sport globally.
DEB (Deutscher Eishockey-Bund) is the German ice hockey association, which works to strengthen ice hockey in Germany and promotes both amateur and professional leagues.
